Faire mouche dans la coupe du monde de biathlon
Follow the dream, not the herd!
My goal is to put Belgium Biathlon on the map. I want to show the world that a small wintersport country like Belgium is capable of challenging the big winter sports countries! Beyond competition, I hope to open the eyes of the Belgian people by introducing them to this beautiful and entertaining sport and to inspire young, upcoming athletes that everything is possible so long as you believe, are dedicated, and have fun!
My biathlon journey was borne out of a curiosity to try something new, and since then biathlon has been my passion. With a Belgian mother and Norwegian father I grew up in Norway (Trondheim), but feel a strong connection with both of my nationalities. In 2019 I represented Belgium biathlon for the first time and since this moment I have been working both to improve my own results, but to also build a team atmosphere so that Belgium biathlon can have success for years to come.
To stay focused as an athlete I feel it is important to have a project on the side, and for me this has been education. This spring I completed my M.Sc in physical education and am continuing with work in academia. The contrast between training my body and training my mind is something that I believe has led to greater success in both areas of my life, and I would love any opportunities to inspire others to do the same.
